Leave nothing
unsaid.
MyMissingNote ensures the people you love have everything they need — bank accounts, passwords, insurance, farewell notes — delivered to the right person at exactly the right time.
Simple by design.
Powerful when it matters.
Set it up once. Know it's handled. Go back to living your life.
Write
Document what matters. Bank accounts, passwords, insurance details, pension info, meaningful contacts, farewell messages — anything the people you love will need.
Assign
Not everyone needs to know everything. Assign each note to exactly the right person — a spouse, a child, a lawyer, a close friend. Granular control, always.
Trust
Your Vault gives trusted contacts active access when they need it. Proof of Life delivers notes automatically to everyone else if you stop checking in. Either way — you set the rules, the system handles the rest.
Two ways to share.
One decision, made thoughtfully.
Choose how each person in your life receives what you leave for them.
Vault
Active access
For those closest to you who may need information quickly — a partner, household member, or lawyer. They have a MyMissingNote account and can actively request access to your vault themselves, without waiting for anything.
- Requires a MyMissingNote account
- They initiate the request — faster disclosure when it matters
- You control approval, timing, and what they can see
Best for: partner, household members, lawyer, financial advisor
Proof of Life
Passive delivery
For friends, relatives, colleagues — anyone you want to reach without placing any burden on them. No account, no app, no action required. When your check-in lapses, your notes simply arrive in their inbox.
- No MyMissingNote account needed
- Notes delivered automatically by email
- Zero action required on their part — ever
Best for: friends, extended family, colleagues, anyone without the app
You can use both. Many people add close family to their Vault for faster access and include them in Proof of Life as a safety net — so they're covered either way.
We built it so we
can't read it.
Every note is encrypted on your device before it reaches our servers. For vault contacts, this is zero-knowledge — we hold no key, ever. For recipients without accounts, we hold a delivery key that activates only when your check-in lapses. Both put you in control. We're transparent about the difference.
Encrypted on your device
Before a note leaves your phone, it's encrypted using AES-256-GCM. Our servers receive only an opaque blob. Your encryption key is derived from your password on-device and never transmitted — we have nothing to hand over, under any circumstances.
Vault notes: zero-knowledge
Notes shared with vault contacts are end-to-end encrypted using ECDH P-384 key exchange. Decryption happens on their device, not ours. We hold no key, act as a blind relay, and cannot open these notes under any circumstances — not in a breach, not under legal pressure, not ever.
Recipient delivery: honest about the trade-off
Recipients don't have accounts — so we hold a delivery key on their behalf. It exists for one purpose: to deliver your notes when your check-in lapses, exactly as you intended. While you are alive and checking in, those notes are encrypted and inaccessible to us in practice. Any service delivering to people without accounts must hold a key. We just tell you about it.
